Biography
Toni Dalli, born Antonio D'Alessandro on November 28, 1933, in Pescara, Abruzzo, Italy, was an Italian singer who moved to Yorkshire, England at sixteen. He began performing at local clubs and TV shows, gaining significant attention when discovered by Percy Livingstone and Rob Goldstein from 20th Century Fox while performing at the Cecil Cinema in Hull. In February 1958, Dalli made his first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in New York. Upon returning to England, he signed with EMI Records and released his debut album, The Student Prince and Other World Famous Songs. He later recorded with Capitol Records and Decca, appearing in theatres worldwide. Dalli passed away on April 28, 2021, at the age of 87.
