Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, born 22â¯Decemberâ¯1991 in Cleveland, Ohio, is an American rapper and singer who began performing under the name Baby Jesus before adopting the stage name DaBaby. He first gained attention in 2014 with mixtapes such as Nonfiction and God's Work, leading to a signing with Interscope Records in Januaryâ¯2019 and the launch of his imprint Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment. His debut studio album Baby on Baby (Marchâ¯2019) produced the single "Suge", which entered the Billboard Hotâ¯100 top ten in Juneâ¯2019. The followâup album Kirk (Septemberâ¯2019) debuted at number one on the Billboardâ¯200 and yielded the singles "Intro" and "Bop". In Aprilâ¯2020, Blame It on Baby topped the Billboardâ¯200 and spawned the hit "Rockstar" featuring Roddy Ricch, which held the Billboard Hotâ¯100 summit for seven nonâconsecutive weeks and earned a Gold certification from the RIAA. DaBaby continued to release Baby on Babyâ¯2 (Novemberâ¯2022) and Be More Grateful (Januaryâ¯2026), while collaborating with artists such as Postâ¯Malone, Meganâ¯Theeâ¯Stallion, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again. His work has consistently charted on the Billboardâ¯200, and his 2020 single "Rockstar" received a nomination for Record of the Year at the 63rdâ¯Annualâ¯Grammyâ¯Awards.
