Tiny Monroe was an English indie pop band formed in London in 1993. The original lineup included Norma Jean "NJ" Wilow on vocals, Alex Culpin on bass guitar, Philip Spalding on guitar, and Greg Sanford on drums. Their debut single "VHF 855V" was released in March 1994 on Laurel Records. They gained significant attention from the NME and Melody Maker, emerging as part of a wave of female-fronted bands influenced by new wave sounds. Tiny Monroe supported notable acts such as Cranes, Curve, The Pretenders, Suede, and Radiohead, and performed at major festivals including Glastonbury, Reading, T in the Park, Hultsfred Festival, and RouteRock festival. Their most successful release was the EP Cream (1994), which reached number 7 in the national indie chart and number 100 in the UK Singles Chart in April 1994. They released their debut album Volcanoes in 1996 before disbanding that same year.
