Deeply rooted in London’s deep house music scene, British singer-songwriter and producer Mark Tieku, aka Tieks, began recording and producing his own material during his teenage years. His first single “Sing That Song,” featuring singer Celeste, arrived in 2014 and perfectly encapsulated Tieks’ influences - from disco to late 90s electronic music, it all came full circle. The track proved to be his breakthrough hit as it was included in an advertisement for clothing line F&F in the UK and quickly inserted itself into the British Top 100. Follow-up single “Sunshine,” which showcased the vocal talent of singer Dan Harkna, did even better, reaching Number 8 on the UK Dance Singles Chart after being featured in a Fiat 500 ad. It also rose to Number 15 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming one of his highest-charting singles. In 2017, Tieks recruited the Queen of Funk herself, Chaka Khan, and Jamaican DJ Popcaan for the single “Say a Prayer.” Although somewhat limited, his output during the next few years included the singles “Break the Rules” (2018) with Bobii Lewis and 2019’s “Celebration.”
