Biography

TiÃ£o Carreiro & Pardinho, a Brazilian sertanejo musical duo, was formed by JosÃ© Dias Nunes, known as TiÃ£o Carreiro, born in Monte Azul, Minas Gerais. TiÃ£o Carreiro began playing the acoustic guitar at a young age and later learned the viola caipira while working with his cousin Waldomiro in Giglio Circus. The duo's breakthrough came with their first success "Pagode em BrasÃlia" recorded in 1959. Their discography includes notable albums such as Rei do Gado (1961), Boi Soberano (1966), and A ForÃ§a do PerdÃ£o (1970). TiÃ£o Carreiro & Pardinho are credited with inventing the rural Pagode (Pagode Caipira) style.
