Biography

The Vasco Era, an Australian rock/blues band, was formed in 2004 and based in Melbourne and consisted of brothers Sid O'Neil (vocals, guitar, lapsteel, rototoms), Ted O'Neil (bass), and Michael Fitzgerald (drums). Originally from Apollo Bay, the band won the Australian National Campus Band Competition in 2004. In 2007, The Vasco Era released their debut album Oh We Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside, which was nominated for the 2007 J Award for Australian Album of the Year by Triple J. The band's second album, Lucille, followed in 2010, and their self-titled third album was released in October 2011. Throughout their career, they performed at major festivals including Southbound, the East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival, and the Falls Festival.
