The Stingrays, a rock band from Crouch End, London, formed in 1981. The group initially gained traction with their garage rock and psychobilly sound, recording on labels such as Ace Records' Big Beat and Joe Foster's Kaleidoscope Sound. Their early releases included Dinosaurs (1983) and "Escalator" (1984), which showcased their raw energy and distinctive style. The band released several notable albums, including Cryptic and Coffee Time (1987) and compilations like The Essential (Early) Sting-Rays (1987). They also collaborated on live recordings such as Live at the Klub Foot 1984. The Stingrays' discography includes significant singles like "June Rhyme" (1986), which highlighted their enduring influence in the garage rock scene.
