Biography

The Native Howl, an American band from Leonard, Michigan, was formed in 2013 by Alex Holycross and Jake Sawicki. Their debut EP The Revolution's Dead marked their initial release, followed by the album Inukshuk in March 2015. The lineup evolved with Mark Chandler joining on bass guitar, and Zach Bolling becoming the permanent drummer. The band released Thrash Grass in March 2016, which peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart in January 2017. Their subsequent album, Out of the Garden and Into the Darkness, debuted at number 3 on the Bluegrass Albums Billboard chart in July 2018. The Native Howl won season 1 of Hit Parader’s No Cover competition in June 2022, securing a contract with Sumerian Records and releasing their first single under the label, “Sons of Destruction,” in August 2022.
