The Jetzons was an American new wave band from Tempe, Arizona, established in 1981. The lineup featured Bruce Connole (guitar/vocals), Damon Doiron (bass), Brad Buxer (keyboards), and Steve Golladay (drums). Connole and Doiron had previously performed together in the punk band Billy Clone & the Same. The group performed its debut concert on 31 December 1981. After relocating to Los Angeles in 1982, they released the EP Made in America via Pan American Records. The band became inactive following a final performance in July 1983, largely due to Connoleâs addiction, though they performed reunion shows in 1991. Their song "Hard Times" gained recognition as an internet phenomenon in the 2010s after it was adapted for the 1994 video game Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Fervor Records issued the compilation The Complete Jetzons in 2008 and The Lost Masters in 2013. Buxer subsequently served as the musical director for Michael Jackson for over 18 years.
