Biography

The High Dials is a Canadian indie rock group formed in Montreal in 2003. The band had its breakthrough with the concept album A New Devotion, which was released on July 29, 2003, and entered the top ten of Canada’s !earshot National Top 50 Chart. Subsequent releases followed chronologically: the Fields in Glass EP (2004), the album War of the Wakening Phantoms (2005), the EP The Holy Ground (2007), the albums Moon Country (2008), Anthems for Doomed Youth (2010), In the A.M. Wilds, which was released on February 3, 2015, and the two‑part Primitive Feelings (2019). Notable collaborations included Rod Argent on the EP The Holy Ground and Sam Roberts on the album War of the Wakening Phantoms. The band toured with the Brian Jonestown Massacre and Neko Case. Its tracks “Bedroom Shadows” and “Echoes and Empty Rooms” were featured in the television series Being Human and House of Cards respectively.
