Biography
The Dread Crew of Oddwood, an acoustic pirate band from San Diego, California, formed in 2008 when Wolfbeard O'Brady organized a meeting at San Diego Comic Con for fans of the Sega Genesis game Ecco the Dolphin. The original lineup included eight members who quickly gained traction performing at Renaissance faires. Their debut album Reign the Helm was released in 2009, followed by Rocktopus in 2010 and Heavy Mahogany in 2012. In 2013, they released the single "The Ballad of Edward Kenway", commissioned by Ubisoft to promote Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The band embarked on Piratefest tour in 2015 featuring Alestorm as the headlining act and Swashbuckle as direct support. Their fourth album, Lawful Evil, was released in 2016 and in 2024, they released their fifth album, Rust & Glory.
