Biography
The Cockman Family was a bluegrass and southern gospel band from Sherrills Ford, North Carolina. The group included John Cockman Sr., Caroline Cockman Fisher, John Cockman Jr., Billy Cockman, David Cockman, and Ben Cockman. Their career featured a distinct bluegrass gospel style that gained audiences throughout the Southeast. They were nominated for multiple awards, including Bluegrass Artists of the Year by the Country Gospel Music Association (CGMA) and Gold Cross Bluegrass Group of the Year by the International Country Gospel Music Association. The Cockman Family was also featured in PBS specials, including Maker of the Stars: A Cockman Family Christmas.
