The Anxiety is a collaborative project between American musicians Willow Smith and Tyler Cole. Apart from being romantically involved, the pair had collaborated with each other multiple times, with Tyler Cole producing Willow Smith's eponymous self-titled album in 2019. The band's first single, "Hey You!," appeared on February 28, 2020, while the album saw the light on March 13, 2020, via MSFTSMusic and Roc Nation. It was promoted through a performance art piece at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, that intended to showcase the eight stages of anxiety. Even though it didn't initially chart, The Anxiety entered the American charts in 2021 after the song "Meet Me at Our Spot" became a sleeper hit on social media, reaching Number 103 on the Billboard 200 and Number 17 on the Top Rock Albums chart.
