Biography
The American Analog Set is an American indie rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in 1995. Their early sound was highly influenced by krautrock and post-rock, evolving to include more pop elements over time. Initial releases included the album The Fun of Watching Fireworks (1996) on Emperor Jones and the EP Late One Sunday & The Following Morning (1997) on Darla Records. Notable albums include From Our Living Room to Yours (1997), The Golden Band (1999), Know by Heart (2001), and Promise of Love (2003). They released Set Free in 2005 on Arts & Crafts. The song "Gone to Earth" from Know by Heart was featured in the soundtrack of the film The Time Traveler's Wife (2009). They returned with the album For Forever in 2023.
