Biography

Thao & the Get Down Stay Down was an American alternative/ folk rock group. The group released their debut album We Brave Bee Stings and All in 2008, followed by Know Better Learn Faster in 2009. In 2013, they signed with Ribbon Music and released We The Common, which included the single âHoly Rollerâ and featured a collaboration with Joanna Newsom on âKindness Be Conceived.â The band toured extensively around this period, including appearances at festivals such as South by Southwest and Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival. Their fourth studio album, A Man Alive, was produced by Merrill Garbus and released in 2016. In October 2021, Thao Nguyen announced that the group would dissolve as she and Adam Thompson moved on to other projects.
