Biography

Terry Silverlight, born in 1971 in Newark, New Jersey, is an American drummer who began his career at fourteen, debuting on Barry Miles' White Heat album. In the 1970s, he performed with notable artists including Pat Martino and John Abercrombie. After attending Princeton University, Terry Silverlight moved to Manhattan for a studio session career, contributing to recordings by artists such as Billy Ocean, George Benson, and Laura Nyro. He also composed, produced, and arranged music for various TV shows and films, including One Life to Live and You've Got Mail. Terry Silverlight has authored three drum books and taught at the Drummers Collective in Manhattan from 1981-1985. He toured with Roberta Flack's band from 1986–1988 and has been a member of David Matthews' Manhattan Jazz Orchestra since 1996. His solo albums include Terry Silverlight (1997), Wild!! (2004), Diamond in the Riff (2008), and Live! (2009).
