Terry Silverlight is an American drummer born in Newark, New Jersey, who made his debut at age fourteen on Barry Miles' 1971 album White Heat. In the 1970s, he performed with notable artists including Pat Martino and John Abercrombie. After attending Princeton University, he moved to Manhattan for a studio session career, playing drums for artists such as Billy Ocean, George Benson, and Laura Nyro. He composed, produced, and arranged music for TV shows and films, including One Life to Live and You've Got Mail. He authored three drum books and taught at the Drummers Collective in Manhattan from 1981 to 1985. He toured with Roberta Flack's band from 1986 to 1988 and has been a member of David Matthews' Manhattan Jazz Orchestra since 1996. His solo albums include Terry Silverlight (1997), Wild!! (2004), Diamond in the Riff (2008), and Live! (2009).
