Terrence Parker, born in Detroit, Michigan, is an American musician known for his work as a producer and DJ in the deep house and funky-house genres. Influenced by gospel and early Detroit techno, Parker began his career as a hip-hop DJ before transitioning to house music in the late 1980s. His first track, "The Question" under the pseudonym Seven Grand Housing Authority, was released in 1993 and became a club hit in Europe, leading to a contract with Sony Music's sublabel 6 Ã 6. The single entered the UK charts in October 1993. Following this success, Parker released "I Wanna Go Higher" and "Love's Got Me High," which gained worldwide recognition for his label Intangible Records. Throughout his career, Parker has used various pseudonyms such as Fishtail and Jovan Blade, and is known for using a modified telephone receiver instead of headphones while mixing, earning him the nickname The Telephone Man.
