Biography

Teodoro Anzellotti, an accordionist born on 1 January 1959 in Foggia, Italy, began his musical journey studying at Karlsruhe and Trossingen Hochschulen. His early career was marked by winning several international competitions, leading to regular invitations from prominent orchestras such as the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne and the Berlin Konzerthausorchester. His breakthrough came with his integration of the accordion into classical music, challenging its traditional perception. He released his debut album Pintscher: Figures I à V in 2004, followed by Erik Satie, Compositeur - Teodoro Anzellotti, Accordéon and Chanson Discrète in 2008. Notable works dedicated to him include Luciano Berio's "Sequenza XIII (Chanson)". He received the Interprète de l'année award in 2011 for his recording of Johann Sebastian Bach’s "Variations Goldberg", solidifying his status as a pioneer in contemporary accordion performance.
