Jason âSundanceâ Head was born on 9 July 1979 in the United States and began performing as a singer at a young age, influenced by his father, singer Roy Head. He entered the public eye as a semiâfinalist on the sixth season of American Idol in 2007, though he was eliminated a week before the finals. His recording career launched with the EP Sundance Head on 15 January 2010, followed by the single "Highway59" on 19 July 2011. Jason âSundanceâ Head released the studio album 2016 & Gruene on 17 March 2012, which established his presence in the countryâsoul genre. In 2015 he issued Soul Country on 25 April, and in 2016 he won season 11 of The Voice, performing "Darlin' Don't Go" for the victory. The winning track appeared on The Voice: The Complete Season 11 Collection released 13 December 2016. In 2018 he signed with Wildcatter Records and released the single "Leave Her Wild". Jason âSundanceâ Headâs discography continued with Close Enough to Walk (2019) and the track "Not Give a Damn" (2019), and he maintained a steady presence on country charts, with singles such as "Drive me to Drinking" reaching the top ten.
