Sue Kyung Son, born Su-gyeong Son on January 27, 1985, in Seoul, South Korea, is a classical and crossover violinist. She began playing the violin at age six and moved to Colchester, England, with her family at nine. Son studied at London's Royal College of Music but later transferred to the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, graduating in 2009. Her breakthrough came in 2009 when she auditioned for Britain's Got Talent, performing "Summer" by Vivaldi on electric violin and impressing judges with her performance. In July 2011, her first single "I Wish" topped the country's crossover charts, after which she released her first album, I AM, in 2012. Son has performed at notable events such as the Mnet Asian Music Awards and has been an ambassador for the Seoul Tourism Organization.
