Biography
Giovanni Marks, known professionally as Subtitle, is a rapper born on October 2, 1978, in Queens, New York. Based in Los Angeles, California, he began his career with early album releases such as Analog Gut and How 2 Beat the Beat 1 & 2 in 1998. In 2003, he released his first EP, I'm Always Recovering from Tomorrow, on Gold Standard Laboratories. Subtitle gained further recognition with the release of his album Young Dangerous Heart in 2005 and collaborated extensively with artists including K-the-I???, Busdriver, and Islands. His group Lab Waste, formed with Thavius Beck, released their debut album Zwarte Achtegrond in 2005. In October 2006, Subtitle released his album Terrain to Roam, featuring production from notable artists such as Daddy Kev, Daedelus, and Madlib.
