Born as "Ma Chi-wai" in Hong Kong on October 26, 1971, Steven Ma is a Cantpop singer and award-winning actor who launched his entertainment career in 1993. That year, he starred in the TVB series Mind Your Own Business and also placed first in a Hong Kong-based singing competition, which resulted in a record deal with Warner Music. Lucky is to Meet You, his debut album, was released that December, with the song's title track becoming a Number 1 hit in Hong Kong. A second single, "Night Long Dreams," also cracked the Top 10.
