Stavros Kougioumtzis, born on July 22, 1932, in Thessaloniki, Greece, was a notable Greek composer and lyricist. He began his musical career by writing his first song in 1960 and quickly gained recognition. In the late 1960s, he collaborated with George Dalaras, helping to establish him as one of Greece's most important singers. Kougioumtzis released several albums, including ÎάÏανε Το 21 (1971) and ÎικÏÎÏ Î Î¿Î»Î¹ÏÎµÎ¯ÎµÏ (1974). His songs were covered by prominent artists such as Anna Vissi, Haris Alexiou, Yiannis Parios, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, and Giannis Kalatzis. He frequently collaborated with poet-lyricist Manos Eleftheriou. He passed away on March 12, 2005, in Thessaloniki.
