Stanislav Stanislavovich Bunin was born on September 25, 1966, in Moscow, Soviet Union. Bunin is a pianist from a musical family including his grandfather Heinrich Neuhaus and father Stanislav Neuhaus. Bunin began studying piano at age five under his motherâs guidance and continued his education at the Moscow Conservatory under Sergei Dorenski from 1984 to 1988. His breakthrough came in 1983 when he won first prize at the Long-Thibaud Competition, followed by the top award at the Chopin Competition in 1985. In 1988, Bunin moved to Japan and taught at the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music from 1991 to 1997. Recordings include works by Frédéric Chopin, Mozart, Debussy, and Bach for labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, EMI, and Sony. Bunin performed piano pieces for the soundtrack of the video game Eternal_Sonata (2007).
