Spoegwolf, an Afrikaans rock band from Paarl, South Africa, was formed in 2012 by Moskou du Toit, Chris von Wielligh, Albert van der Merwe, and Danie du Toit. The group initially played together under the name Ysterkoei during high school, winning several competitions before securing a recording contract with Paris Recording Studios. In 2012, they released their debut album Swaartekrag under the new name Spoegwolf. Their subsequent albums include Somer (2015), which won Best Alternative Album at the Ghoema Music Awards, and Die Donker Toring (2017). In 2019, they released Koma, becoming the first Afrikaans music group to top an online streaming platform's charts in South Africa. The band also collaborated with Francois Van Coke on "Dagdrome in Suburbia" from his 2019 album. Subsequent releases include See and Wind (both 2020), as well as EPs Groen and Silwer (both 2021). In 2022, they released the albums Droombrief and Dryf.
