Biography

The Spirit of the Beehive, an American indie rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was formed in 2014. The group's name is derived from the 1973 Spanish film of the same name. Their debut self-titled album The Spirit of the Beehive was released in 2014, followed by the EP You Are Arrived (But You've Been Cheated) in 2015. In 2017, they released their second album, Pleasure Suck, on Tiny Engines, which included notable songs such as "Ricky (Caught Me Tryin')" and "Twenty First Road Trip." Their third album, Hypnic Jerks, was released through Tiny Engines in 2018. In 2021, they released their fourth album, Entertainment, Death, on Saddle Creek Records. The band has toured extensively, sharing stages with acts such as Japanese Breakfast and Pile. Their fifth album, YOU’LL HAVE TO LOSE SOMETHING, was released on August 23, 2024.
