Spectrum Concerts Berlin is a German classical chamber music ensemble founded by American cellist Frank Sumner Dodge in 1988. The group performed music from the baroque and classical periods as well as 20th-century and contemporary compositions. The ensemble featured a rotating cast of musicians, including notable figures such as Janine Jansen, Boris Brovtsyn, and Robert D. Levin. Spectrum Concerts Berlin released several recordings for the Naxos label, including works by Ernst Toch, Paul Hindemith, and John Harbison. Spectrum Concerts Berlin-USA, Inc., a sister group founded in New York City in 2005, debuted with two concerts at Zankel Hall in Carnegie Hall in 2006. The ensemble received critical acclaim for both live performances and recordings, contributing to the cultural exchange between America and Europe.
