SpecialThanks, a pop-punk band from Aichi Prefecture in Japan, is known for its dynamic lineup changes and consistent musical output since its inception. The members are Misaki and Takaaki Yoshida. The band, also known as "SpuSan," was founded in November 2005 by Misaki during her last year of middle school. Initially, SpecialThanks started as a trio covering songs from influential punk bands like Green Day and Hi-STANDARD. Their musical journey is marked by a series of releases, starting with their first demo CD in February 2007, followed by their debut mini-album SEVEN COLORS in August 2008. SpecialThanks continued to gain traction with subsequent albums, such as SEVEN LOVERS (2011) and singles that showcased their evolving sound. By 2021, the band celebrated its 15th anniversary with a crowdfunded project, underlining their enduring appeal. The lineup streamlined to a duo in January 2023, and they continued producing music, culminating in the release of their album PUNK RECORDS in October 2024, marking their first full album release in about four years.
