Koisei Abe, born April 3, 1975 in Tokushima, Japan, served as the guitarist and vocalist for the Japanese rock band SPARTA LOCALS. He began composing songs in high school, forming the group in 1998 with friends from Tokushima. The band's first commercial release came with the single "Pogo" in 2003, which introduced their energetic sound. In 2002, Sad Tinnitus, their debut album, was released under an independent label, and it was followed by Second Fanfare, Pogo, and Piece, each supported by nationwide tours. The group signed with Universal Music Japan in 2003 and continued to release albums such as Sun Sun Sun, Dreamer(2005), "Fly"(2006) Sparta Localz (2006), and Maboroshi Forever (2007). They collaborated with artists like Kurururu, Kurori, and ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION during joint tours and compilation projects. In December 2009, the band performed their final show, "Last Dance is You", after which SPARTA LOCALS disbanded. In 2016, the members reunited for a charity event, December's Children, before officially concluding their activities.
