Spacedust, a British music production duo consisting of Paul Glancy and Duncan Glasson, originated in England. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Gym and Tonic" on March 8, 1998, which reached Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. The track was technically a cover of Bob Sinclar's single "Gym Tonic," although Spacedust were credited as the sole writers and producers. A full release of Sinclar's original song was refused by Jane Fonda, who was sampled on the record. The music video for "Gym and Tonic", despite being made in the late 1990s, was intentionally produced to look cheap, costing over £10,000. It regularly featured on VH1's "worst videos" lists. Following this success, they released the hit single "Let's Get Down", based on Chicâs "I Want Your Love". Both tracks were released under the East West Records label. "Let's Get Down" peaked at Number 20 on the UK Singles Chart. Despite their chart success, Spacedust did not release any further notable material after "Let's Get Down".
