Biography

Milton Supman, known professionally as Soupy Sales, was born on January 8, 1926, in Franklinton, North Carolina. He began his career as a disc jockey and comedian, initially using the stage name Soupy Hines before settling on Soupy Sales to avoid confusion with the Heinz soup company. Soupy Sales' music career started with his involvement in various radio and television shows, where he showcased his comedic talents alongside his singing abilities. His first album release was The Soupy Sales Show in 1961. Throughout the 1960s, he released several notable albums, including Up In The Air (1962), Spy With A Pie (1965), and Soupy Sales Sez Do The Mouse! He also released singles such as "The Mouse / Pachalafaka" in 1965. His music was often intertwined with his comedic performances, making him a unique figure in the pop music scene. His work left a lasting impact on popular culture, particularly through his television show The Soupy Sales Show, which became synonymous with his pie-throwing antics and comedic sketches. He passed away on October 22, 2009.
