Biography

Sons of Butcher, a Canadian comedy rock band, originated in Hamilton, Ontario. The group began performing live in August 2004 and quickly gained local attention for their unique blend of acoustic mock-rock, electric guitar, and deli trays. Their first albums, Left Behind Volume 1 and Left Behind Volume 2, were signed and released by July 2005, followed by their self-titled major studio album Sons of Butcher in November of the same year. The band's alter-egos became the focus of an animated television series that aired on Teletoon from 2005 to 2007. In 2006, they released Meatlantis, and in 2010, they produced two albums: Fall of the Steaks and Rise of the Steaks. Their live album Moppin’ The Mod Club: Live in Toronto was released digitally in February 2019. Band member Trevor/Ricky Butcher also fronted a side project called Moonlight Desires, which released two albums: Frankie Goes to Hamilton (2014) and Just The Hits: 1981-1985 (2017).
