Son Rompe Pera is a Mexican band formed in 2017 in Colonia Ramos Millán, Naucalpan by brothers Jesús Ãngel "Kacho" Gama and Alan Gama "Mongo", whose father was a marimba player and influenced their early musical training. After his death, the brothers resumed playing music informally at the local market La Lagunilla and officially formed Son Rompe Pera. The band's music blended traditional Mexican marimba with genres like cumbia, danzón, rock, punk, and ska. Their breakthrough came when they were invited to perform with Chico Trujillo, Celso Piña, and Sonido Gallo Negro at Carpa Astros in Mexico City. They released their debut album Batuco in 2020, which was named after their father and received critical acclaim.
