Biography

Congolese composer, guitarist and singer, So Kalmery is the creator of brakka, a style that combines traditional griot music with modern blues. After starting out in Viva La Musica with Papa Wemba and Koffi OlomidÃ©, So Kalmery moved to Europe, where he performed solo and recorded the albums Brakka (1990) and Rasmi (1996). In 2009, he released Brakka System, an album that brought him recognition.
