Skylar Star Stecker, known professionally as Skylar Simone on April 24, 2002, in Tampa, Florida, is an American singer and songwriter. She began her career by singing the national anthem at various sporting events, including games for the Wisconsin Badgers and New Orleans Saints. In August 2013, Stecker started actively recording and releasing cover videos on her YouTube channel. Her debut studio album, This is Me, was released on September 25, 2015, featuring the single "Rooftop", which peaked at number 11 on the Dance Club Songs chart. In March 2019, she independently released her second album, Redemption. Stecker's EP Earth Signs was released in July 2021, which also included the singles "Superman" and "FWY". In May 2024, she made her debut under Def Jam Recordings with the single and music video "Shiver", followed by the EP Shiver on August 15, 2024. She parted ways with Def Jam in February 2025.
