Sigi Busch is a German jazz musician and educator who was born as Siegfried Busch in Krefeld-Uerdingen, Germany, in 1943. He achieved professional recognition after joining the early European rock-jazz ensemble Association P.C. and is famous for his work as a jazz double bass player and for his contributions to jazz education. Busch performed with groups including Jazztrack and established the ensemble In 'n' Out (1979) alongside the drummer Pierre Courbois. His discography includes the studio recordings Age of Miracles (1975), The Berlin Songbook, and Busch singt Busch (2008). Throughout a career that includes performances with Gary Burton, Albert Mangelsdorff, and John Zorn, he also performed with the Gil Evans Orchestra (1989) and the Manfred Schoof Big Band. Since 1988, he has served as a professor for jazz theory and double bass at the Berlin University of the Arts.
