Siegfried Uhlenbrock, born on January 16, 1939, in Wismar, Germany, was a singer and composer. He studied piano and viola at the Musikfachschule Berlin and continued his education at the Hochschule für Musik âHanns Eislerâ Berlin. In 1967, he met singer Dagmar Frederic, forming the duo Dagmar & Siegfried, which gained popularity in socialist states until 1973. Their hit "Du hast gelacht" became widely known, notably used by Gabriele Seyfert for her gold medal-winning figure skating performance at the World Championships in 1969. The duo won the Internationalen Schlagerfestival der Ostseeländer with "Tanz in der Sommernacht" and the DDR's Schlagerwettbewerb with "Unsere Sommerreise". After the duo disbanded, Uhlenbrock focused on composing for children's television shows like Liederspielplatz. He passed away on September 8, 2013.
