Biography

French nu metal band Sidilarsen was founded in Toulouse in 1997. Initially consisting of brothers David "Didou" Cancel (vocals, programming) and Samuel "Turbo" Cancel (drums), the band also included Benjamin "Viber" Bury (guitar, vocals), Sébastien "Sabash" Ey Cancel (drums), it also includes Benjamin "Viber" Bury (guitar, vocals), Sébastien "Sabash" Eychenne (guitar, replaced in 2005 by Benjamin "Benben" Lartigue) and Julien "Fryzzzer" Soula (bass). Associated with the Antistatic collective, Sidilarsen produced a blend of metal and industrial electro on their debut album Biotop (2003), followed by Eau (2005). Through successive tours and studio work, the band quickly carved out a place for itself on the French metal scene, and saw its audience grow with each album. In 2006, Réactivation Numérique featured eleven remixes of the previous album Eau, by peers such as Mass Hysteria, Burning Heads, No One Is Innocent and others. The next two albums, Une Nuit Pour Sept Jours (2008) and Machine Rouge (2011), broadened the musical spectrum of Sidilarsen, who maintained their strong reputation with Chatterbox (2014) and Dancefloor Bastards (2016). In 2018, a change occurs with the replacement of Julien Soula by Sylvain Sarrobert for the album On Va Tous Crever (2019), while in 2022 Samuel Cancel leaves his drummer's post to Marvyn Palmeri for the following album Que la Lumière Soit (2024).
