Biography

Shin’ichi Fukuda, born on December 25, 1955 in Osaka, Japan, is a classical guitarist and music educator. He began his musical journey with piano lessons before studying guitar under Tatsuya Saito from 1966 to 1976. Shin’ichi Fukuda earned a First Prize and Concert Diploma at the École normale de musique de Paris in 1978. Fukuda's career includes concert tours, notably his debut in New York's Merkin Concert Hall in 1992. He premiered works by composers like Toru Takemitsu and Leo Brouwer, and recorded over 100 albums, including Schubertiana (1995), Sonatas (2000), Fantasia Sevillana (2003), and Voyage (2004). He has been honored with awards from the Japanese Ministry of Culture. As an educator, Shin’ichi Fukuda has conducted masterclasses worldwide.
