Shevchenko & Elloco was a Recife, Pernambuco brega funk duo made up of MC Shevchenko (Robson Oliveira Rodrigues) and MC Elloco (Cleiton José da Silva), artists who helped define the local âpassinhoâ dance culture as it moved from neighborhood parties into wider Brazilian attention. Active since 2009, they built a hands-on base in Recifeâs Zona Norte, running a clothing shop in Campo Grande that also doubled as a recording spot and a hangout for collaborators and younger MCs. Their breakthrough moment came in 2019, when âTome na Pepekaâ became a Carnival staple in the Northeast and pushed the duo into national conversation; in the same stretch they linked with Maneirinho do Recife and other names from their wider crew on records tied to the âTropaâ circle. The 2019 album Eu Tô Só Calado captured that peak-era sound, and it included âDallyâ featuring Maneirinho do Recife, MC Balakinha & Biel Xcamoso, one of their best-known songs. They continued releasing singles through the early 2020s, including âXereca de Melâ (2020) and âTaca Essa Bucetaâ (2021), then returned with a new batch of cuts in 2023ââXereca De Mel 2,â âDiabinha,â âPiru de Natalâ with MC 10G, and the EP Coloca Na Balançaâfollowed by âA Putaria Me Abraçouâ (2024). Elloco died on March 21, 2024, after suffering a heart attack in Recife, closing a partnership widely viewed as foundational to brega funkâs modern era.
