Biography

Born on November 27, 1984, in Bromölla, Sweden, Senna Nielsen was just 7 years old when she made her debut in music, taking part in music shows in 1992. Two years later, she won her first singing competition in Kallinge. In 2003, at the age of 11, she rose to the top of the Swedish charts with the song "Till en fågel," and found success as a child start with the dansband Mats Elmes. She participated in the Melodifestivalen competition, organized by Swedish television to choose Sweden's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest, on numerous occasions, including a duet with Fredrik Kempe in 2005. After coming close to a win in 2008, she achieved her goal thanks to her song "Undo," which earned her a ticket to Eurovision 2014, held at Denmark's Copenhagen venue. Though making it to the finale, she eventually finished third in the competition behind the Netherlands' The Common Linnets and Austria's Conchita Wurst. In addition to her Eurovision run, the Swedish singer has released numerous singles and eight studio albums, including three holiday LPs. One of those albums, 2010's Vår Jul, was recorded in collaboration with fellow singers Shirley Clamp and Sonja Alden, and featured the popular Saint Lucy's Day song "Så mörk är natten i midvintertid." Her eighth studio effort, 7, was released in 2014 and quickly topped the Swedish charts thanks to her Eurovision entry, "Undo."
