Mercy Nnenda Chinwo, performing as Mercy Chinwo or Mercy Chinwo-Blessed, is a Nigerian gospel singer and actress born on September 5, 1990, in Rivers State. She established a musical background in her church's children's choir and later earned a degree in human resource management. Chinwo won the second season of Nigerian Idol (2012) and performed in the film House of Gold (2013). Her recording career featured the debut single âTestimonyâ (2015) and the album The Cross: My Gaze (2018), which included the song âExcess Loveâ. Chinwo recorded the albums Satisfied (2020) and Overwhelming Victory (2024), and the EP Elevated (2023). Her other collaborations with artists include Nathaniel Bassey and Chioma Jesus. Her achievements included the Climax Award for Best Gospel Artiste (2018) and the AGAFEST Female Artiste of the Year (2019). In 2023, Chinwo established the MercyisBlessed Foundation.
