Referred to as the Prince of V-pop, Vietnamese singer/songwriter SÆ¡n Tùng M-TP, born Nguyá»
n Thanh Tùng on July 5, 1994, to parents who were both talented amateur musicians. While still a teenager, some early recordings took of his were noticed by a rapper who asked M-TP to perform with his group, Young Pilots. He released his debut solo single, "CÆ¡n mưa ngang qua", in 2012, and it garnered the R&B Song of the Year award at the Zing Music Awards. He established himself in the public eye with "Em cá»§a ngà y hôm qua" in December of 2013, but the song and others were followed by accusations of plagiary. He conquered the film world in 2014 with Dandelion, a box office smash that won him the Golden Kite for Best Young Prominent Actor. 2015 saw the release of eight new singles, but was marred by a failed first tour. He would continue to release songs, changing his focus from R&B to more straight-ahead dance music, and rack up various industry awards including multiple trophies for the song and video for 2017âs "Lạc trôiâ. A best of album and autobiography were issued in 2017, cementing his iconic status in Vietnamese popular culture. His 2019 Sky Tour was so successful that a film and a live album chronicling it came out in 2020 as did a new single, the electronic dance ballad âcó chắc yêu là Äâyâ.
