Rubicon, an English alternative rock band, formed in 1992 as an offshoot of Fields of the Nephilim. The group consisted of Andy Delany on vocals, Peter Yates on guitar and keyboards, Paul Wright on guitar, Tony Pettitt on bass guitar, and Nod Wright on drums, percussion, and keyboards. Their debut album, What Starts, Ends, was released in 1992 under Atlantic Records and Beggars Banquet Records. Produced by Mark Freegard, the album featured two singles: "Crazed" and "Before My Eyes". The band's second album, Room 101, was produced, engineered, and mixed by Richard James Burgess under the pseudonym Caleb Kadesh and released in 1995 on Beggars Banquet. This album included the single "Insatiable". The band's music is characterised by its dark, atmospheric sound and introspective lyrics, which resonated with fans of alternative rock during the early 1990s. Rubicon gained a dedicated following through their live performances and radio play, contributing to the broader alternative rock scene of the era. Following their disbandment in 1995, the Wright brothers went on to form Last Rites, continuing their musical journey with a new project. Although Rubicon's career was relatively short, their contributions to the alternative rock genre left a lasting impact.
