Biography
Roselia is a five-piece Japanese girl group whose music blends J-pop hooks with gothic imagery and the edgy punch of alternative rock. Launched in 2016 in Tokyo, Japan, the group is spearheaded by the BanG Dream! Franchise, a management company that specializes in launching bands who operate across multimedia platforms, often with anime alter egos. "Black Shout," Roselia's debut single, was released in 2017 and reached Number 7 on the Oricon Singles chart, followed later that year by the Top 10 singles "Re:birth Day," "Passionate Starmine," and "Oneness." Anfang, Roselia's first album, was released in 2018 and also became a Top 10 hit, with BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Cover Collection Vol. 4 earning the band its first Number 1 album two years later. The band continued to release commercially-lauded songs and albums during the early 2020s, reaching Number 2 on the Oricon charts with "ZEAL of Proud" in 2021 and hitting Number 6 with the album Rozen Horizon in 2022.
