Manuela Otilia PulgarÃn González, known professionally as Rosa Morena, was born on July 11, 1941, in Badajoz, Spain. She began her singing career at the age of six and won her first prize in a radio contest in 1953. Her breakthrough came with her early EPs released in 1965, including Malena / La Adelfa / Tela Del Telón / Badajoz La Tierra MÃa and Hava Nagila. Throughout the late 1960s and 1970s, Rosa Morena released several albums such as La Rosa Y El Viento (1972) and Rosa Morena (1976). She performed in various theaters across Spain and internationally, including notable venues like Circo Price and Radio City Music Hall. Her career also extended to film, with appearances in movies like El secreto de las esmeraldas. Despite a hiatus due to illness in the 1980s, Rosa Morena continued to release albums like Tela De Araña (1998) and was recognized for her contributions by her hometown. She passed away on December 4, 2019.
