Biography

Robert Giegling is a German jazz trumpeter and composer born on April 14, 1983, in Heilbronn. He began his musical journey with classical piano lessons before adding the trumpet to his repertoire at age eight. Between 2003 and 2008, Giegling studied jazz trumpet at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim. During this period, he performed with the LandesJugendJazzorchester and won first prize at the competition of German music colleges in 2005. Giegling released his debut album, Tafelrunde, with the Robert Giegling Quintet in 2010. He subsequently founded the rhythm and blues band IIL FAT and the ensemble Three Trumpets. In 2015, the Robert Giegling Quintet released the album Rough Songs, which blended hardbop and hip-hop influences. Giegling performed with the formation Archie Banks alongside Die Fantastischen Vier at Jazzopen Stuttgart in 2018. He released the solo album Everyone in 2021.
