Rob Dougan, born Robert Don Hunter Dougan in 1969 in Melbourne, Australia, is a producer and composer whose work blends orchestral, tripâhop and electronic elements. After studying acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Dougan entered the music scene in 1991 as a producer and remix artist, with early releases such as "Hard Times" and a 1994 remix of U2âs "Numb" that began charting in the United Kingdom. His breakthrough came in 1995 with the single "Clubbed to Death (Kurayamino Variation)", which gained international attention when featured on the 1999 The Matrix soundtrack; the track was later reâissued on his debut album Furious Angels in 2002, accompanied by several variations and a full orchestral score. Douganâs catalog expanded with EPs Clubbed To Death â Maxi CD (2003) and Misc. Sessions (2016), and with the 2018 compilation Films: Past and Future. Throughout his career he collaborated with Rollo Armstrong, contributed to the The Matrix Reloaded soundtrack, and worked on projects for artists such as Sugababes. His releases have appeared on Cheeky Records and BMG, and his music has been featured in films, video games and television.
