Rick Dees and His Cast of Idiots was a novelty studio act led by American radio DJ Rick Dees, created around the 1976 hit âDisco Duck.â Dees, then a popular Memphis radio host, recorded the song as a comedic parody blending disco music with cartoon-style spoken vocals.
