Rheji Burrell is an American dance musician and producer from New Jersey. Burrell and his twin brother, Ronald Burrell, began their career as teenagers in the gospel group Inner Spirit, winning first place for four consecutive years at the New Jersey Teen Arts Festival. In 1988, the duo released the debut album Burrell on Virgin Records.Burrell co-founded the Nu Groove record label in the early 1990s, creating house music under aliases including New York House'n Authority and Tech Trax Inc. His discography included the Apartments EP and the recording âIâve Just Begun To Love Youâ for Roqui. Burrell subsequently transitioned to producing hip-hop and R&B, earning multi-platinum certifications for the album Total (1996) and the JoJo album Blackground (2005). He served as a voting member of the Recording Academy.
